CALL TO CONVENTION

The Libertarian Party of West Michigan will hold its Biennial Convention on Saturday, December 12 at 4:00 PM via Zoom. A link will be sent out soon. If you are a Libertarian Party member in West Michigan and would like to participate but do not receive the link, please message Jamie Lewis or Bill Hall.

The agenda for this convention will consist of electing members to the Oversight Committee to oversee the affiliate for the next two years. Per the Bylaws, the body can also change the level of dues, which currently is set at $5 per year. Once the Oversight Committee is chosen they will meet to select the officers who will lead the affiliate.

The Oversight committee will consist of 18 members. The following previous candidates are automatically members:

Alex Avery (2020 Kent County Drain Commissioner Candidate),

Mary Buzuma (2020 Ottawa County Clerk Candidate),

Jay Gillotte (2018 19th District State Senate Candidate),

Erwin Haas (2018 26th District State Senate Candidate),

Nathan Hewer (2018 28th District State Senate Candidate),

Jamie Lewis (2020 Kent County Clerk Candidate),

Max Riekse (2018 34th District State Senate Candidate),

John Steadman (2020 Kent County Clerk Candidate)

Bob VanNoller (29th District State Senate Candidate)

The body will elect 9 more members to make up the board. This is your opportunity to help shape the future of the party! Please consider serving on the board. You can either contact current Chair Jamie Lewis or Current Secretary Bill Hall before hand, or submit your name for nomination at the convention. We look forward to having a strong board and hope to see you on-line on December 12!

Jamie serves as the Board Advisor to the Libertarian Party of West Michigan, and as the Political Director of the Libertarian Party of Michigan. He is a Resident of Gaines Township (Cutlerville), Kent County Michigan and has been employed as the Production Supervisor at Cascade Printing and Graphics for 20 years. He is an avid board gamer and Soccer fan- but he would never ask you to pay to build a stadium to support his sport!
